Job DescriptionEcosystem Storage Development Engineering: This team focuses on developing features in vSphere that have significant impact to partners. The ideal candidate will work as part of the team that enhances storage management stack for vSphere. The job requires working closely with VMWare storage Eco System partners to innovate on new features for upcoming releases. The job requires the individual to be highly analytical, a team-player and is driven to produce results.

Responsibilities:
- Be part of an engineering team building VMware’s storage software
- Develop Policy based storage software
- Focus on designing, implementing and testing key pieces of the software
- Develop framework to enable partner plugin in vSphere

Requirements:
- Pursuing Bachelors, Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science or equivalent
- Completed coursework in operating systems, computer architecture, distributed systems, compilers, and kernel development
- 1-2 years of experience or equivalent in the following areas a plus: operating systems, computer architecture, distributed systems, compilers, and kernel development
- Strong skills in C required; good skills in C++/Java are nice to have
- Experience building storage management and user interfaces for enterprise products preferred
- Experience in distributed systems and/or client-server programming preferred
- Familiar with VMware products, especially ESX
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
